BADGE SIZING
We fabricate just about any metal badge design you can imagine and in any size you require, however our standardized pricing only covers badge sizes of 3″ (76mm) or less. If you need a larger badge or have questions about a specialized design, CONTACT US!
BADGE MOUNTING
Etched badges attach to the drum using either screws or an air vent. Include the screw hole or vent hole size and placement on your design.
Die-Cast badges can mount via screws, air vents, or reverse mounted spuds/bosses. If you opt for spuds, you do not have to reference this in your design file as we will determine the best placement when the mould is created. Spuds/bosses are threaded to receive a 4M screw unless you specify otherwise.
Screws are not included due to the varied thickness of drum shells, badges and the use of gaskets.
ENAMEL
Enamel can be used on both Die-Cast and Etched badge types and is actually painted on by hand. For the enamel to pool properly, your design has to have a recessed edge on either side of where the enamel goes.
For example, if you want an outer graphic element or text to be enameled, that means those objects have to be recessed and you will need a raised metal border around them. If you want the space around these objects to be enameled, then that means the text or other graphic elements would have to be raised.
SERIALIZATION
Serialization is an engraving process where we engrave a unique number sequence on each individual badge. (e.g. 00001 – 00050)
The numbers can be engraved anywhere on the badge surface, but enough room needs to be left on the design to accommodate that space.
MIXING FINISHES
Mixing finishes means you could have a certain number of pieces in one finish and the rest of the pieces in one or two others.
Order quantities are not affected. You can order as few as 30 pieces with multiple finishes!
Note this is only available with standard finishes. Bare metal and specialty configurations such as two-tone finishes excluded.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STANDARD DIE-CAST AND DIE-CAST 3D
The Die-Cast 3D is a manufacturing enhancement that adds extra depth to your specific design elements beyond just one level of raised or recessed metal. This looks super cool with graphic elements that have a lot of detail or objects like a banner or shield.
BADGE FABRICATION FOR OTHER INDUSTRIES
Yeah, drums is our thing, but we can do any badge or nameplate in just about any size you can imagine!
If your badge size is 3″ or less, just use our standard order form. If you need something more custom, CONTACT US!
